Heart Knowledge Means You Want To Do It
Head knowledge is the multiple choice test.
Hand knowledge is the technical interview (or, passing a “doer” test, like the Army Fitness Test).
Heart knowledge is actually must simpler.
Do you actually have internal feelings (in your heart) driving you to do it?
You either want to do it, or you don’t.
Not working out? Everyone knows what a pushup is, and how to run. Which means: not enough heart knowledge.
To develop heart knowledge around a thing is a function of self-knowledge.
If you are the sort of person that is motivated by peer pressure, then joining a fitness class might get you to actually want to do it.
If you are the sort of person that is motivated by beating the odds, then people telling you “you can’t” might get you to actually want to do it.
If you are the sort of person that is motivated by challenge, then trying to hit a number (bench pressing 225) might get you to actually want to do it.
But we normally don’t test for this sort of thing.
Yet here’s the thing: you can develop it.
